Since EBI published the last edition of this report in 2000, the prospect of e-commerce in the industry has changed dramatically; Some have shifted their focus from B2B to online information systems, while others have remained in the same field and managed to survive. Environmental Management Information Systems (EMIS), meanwhile, have been able to take advantage of the new technological advancement and have benefited many businesses that must comply with the environmental regulations.
