Environmental Business Journal
Natural Resources
(Vol.XVI No.1/2)

Published May 2003

EBJ's research shows that the Natural Resource Management (NRM) market is about $1 billion. Broadly defined, NRM includes services related to natural resources such as aquatic ecology, biodiversity, endangered species, fisheries, mining restoration, resource damage assessments (NRDAs), and many other resource-related services. While the regulatory drivers, such as National Environmental Policy Act and Endangered Species Act, are under constant attack by pro-real estate interests, many agree that they will continue their survival, providing a stable market for the NRM firms.

This issue of EBJ assesses the current state of the NRM market. EBJ's list of top NRM firms is also presented in this issue.
